01

Visual acuity

The tumbling E check
02

Color balance

Red or green? Compare the sharpness of identical shapes against two color backgrounds.

The duochrome check

Astigmatism patterns

Follow the lines. Notice whether some directions look darker or sharper than others.

The clock dial check

GOOD TO KNOW

A little more
clarity.

Good questions deserve
straightforward answers.

01Is this a replacement for an eye exam?

No. eyeclinic is an educational screening, not an eye exam or a diagnosis. It cannot assess eye health or provide a corrective prescription. An optometrist or ophthalmologist can perform a complete examination.

02What do I need to get started?

A computer or tablet, a standard plastic payment or ID card for screen calibration, a way to measure 40 or 60 centimeters, and a quiet, evenly lit space. Allow about 5–8 minutes and keep your browser zoom unchanged.

03Should I wear my glasses or contacts?

You can screen with or without your usual distance correction. Choose the option that matches you during setup, keep it consistent for both eyes, and record that choice with your results. Do not remove medically required correction.

04How accurate are the results?

Results depend on screen calibration, viewing distance, display quality, lighting, and your responses. Near-screen acuity is not a standardized distance eye chart. The illustrative refractive estimate is unvalidated and must never be used to order eyewear.

05What happens to my screening data?

Your responses stay in this browser tab unless you explicitly choose to email a report. A PDF can be downloaded directly to your device. Emailing saves your screening and address to our database and sends the report through our email provider.
